I see some questions on here about income, like worried that a certain major or job won't net them enough income because they think $60k or $70k isn't a lot. I mean that's not as much as like $200k a year, but isn't that still a lot?!? Or some people will say in an answer, "Those positions don't pay much, you won't get rich" and I google the position and average income is $70k to $80k a year. WTF? Are people for real? I grew up middle class mostly as a child (were poor at first, when my dad started his air force career back then but he quickly gained ranks, which means increased income). I don't make much now, so even $50k a year sounds awesome. But seriously? Doesn't the average American make like $30k a year or something like that? I am considering that in large cities like NYC that income isn't as much as say in Bumf*ck Oklahoma, but still... Thoughts? I meant as a single. The only exception I can see is that if a) a single parent is raising kids by themselves, without child support payments, and b) someone wants to start a family one day / has a family, and is the only income for said family, so they have to make up in earnings what their spouse doesn't earn.
